Individual Therapy with Tino Silva
When working together, you can expect to have a thorough discussion about what’s going on in your life. What concerns you on a daily basis? How are your relationships with friends and family? These questions are important because it helps us to identify any psychological disorders, including depression, anxiety or other disorders, that need to be addressed in treatment. I will spend a significant amount of time getting to know you. By using this information, I will develop an effective course of action with you. The goal is to address the underlying cause of your discomfort. You should not suffer in silence nor should you talk yourself into thinking that you can do it alone. Get in contact with me today.
Depending on your specific needs discussed in our initial counseling session, I will provide proven strategies to help you manage whatever is holding you back from being the best version of yourself. Whether you are struggling with PTSD, or you are overwhelmed at work, or you are having social anxieties, whatever it is there is a root cause I am here to help. Throughout my studies I can help you discover how you can overcome those often deeply rooted issues. I am committed to to providing my clients with a safe space while implementing healthy coping skills to replace unhealthy coping skills such as drug/alcohol abuse or other self-sabotaging behaviors.
I myself continue my research in the field of Mental Health in order to improve my own journey as a therapist and to stay on the forefront of the latest therapy methods. After working with me you will see an improvement in self-esteem and gain a sense of self worth, competence, and responsibility.
You can use what you learn during our sessions in real life and will know how to cope with life events and how to manage stress and anxiety on a day to day basis.
In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a mental health clinician. No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client. You should be aware, however, that if you use insurance benefits to pay for all or part of your therapy, some information about your treatment will need to be reported to your insurer.
In addition, there are some special circumstances in which the law requires therapists to break confidentiality. These exceptions include:
1. If you present a danger to yourself, to others, to property, or are unable to care for yourself.
2. If there is suspected past or present child, dependent, or elder abuse or neglect.
3. If the court orders a release of information as part of a legal proceeding, or as otherwise required by the law.
Counseling is not a quick cure for your problems. The counselor is there to help you explore your feelings, thoughts, and concerns; to examine your options; and to assist you in achieving the goals you have set. Therapy, like life, is a process. We strive to help you learn to trust this.
