Family Therapy with Tino Silva
I myself continue my research in the field of Mental Health and Well-Being n order to improve my journey as a Family therapist and to remain on the forefront of the latest therapy methods. After working with me, your family will see an improvement in how to communicate with one another in a less emotional and more effective way. After all, the goal is to heal and to get a long on a day to day basis.
You can apply what you learn during our sessions in real life and will know how to better cope with life events and how to manage and resolve conflict with the people you love.
Family therapy is a type of psychological counseling (psychotherapy) that can help family members improve communication and resolve conflicts.
In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a mental health clinician. No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client. You should be aware, however, that if you use insurance benefits to pay for all or part of your therapy, some information about your treatment will need to be reported to your insurer.
In addition, there are some special circumstances in which the law requires therapists to break confidentiality. These exceptions include:
1. If you present a danger to yourself, to others, to property, or are unable to care for yourself.
2. If there is suspected past or present child, dependent, or elder abuse or neglect.
3. If the court orders a release of information as part of a legal proceeding, or as otherwise required by the law.
Prior to your first family appointment, there will be a number of forms you must fill out. The first session can last between 60-75 minutes. I will review the completed forms with you and will answer any questions you may have. We will talk about your concerns and what you hope to accomplish through family therapy.
Family Therapy sessions are typically 60-75 minutes, and your family will typically meet on a weekly or bi-weekly basis depending on your family’s needs. Typically, most clients meet with me for a minimum of 10-12 sessions, (3-months) however, this depends on the family dynamics and preference as well as other factors. Let’s talk about it.
Counseling is not a quick cure for your problems. The counselor is there to help you explore your feelings, thoughts, and concerns; to examine your options; and to assist you in achieving the goals you have set. Therapy, like life, is a process. We strive to help you learn to trust this.
We currently accept Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, UMR, and most comprehensive Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. Every insurance plan is different. When you fill out your initial paperwork, you will submit a copy of your insurance card so I can contact your insurance company and verify eligibility of benefits.
